You get picked up by them. The driver actually was our tour guide so by the time the tour started, we were all comfortable with Greg R. Funny, witty, knowledgeable and friendly! We picked up other customers while we filled out and your typical waiver, and then were taken to their base camp where we were given special gear: boots (go a size higher than what you normally wear), and a helmet. We then walked to our snowmobile. Greg explained how the machine worked, how to turn (lean left or right to help it out), and some basic signals. Off we went up the hill. On the way you see some amazing views. It is bumpy so if you are in tandem (i.e. two per vehicle), the one in the back gets to feel most of the bumps. After some time we reached a valley where Greg let us loose. They had built a sort of race track where we were able to go full speed ahead! Next we went to more sightseeing. The best part? At one point, we stopped at an area from where you can see Vail’s ski runs. Amazing!!
From there we went back to the valley where the race track was so we could have lunch inside an actual yurt! Food was really good considering you are in the middle of nowhere. We had chicken poblano soup, Mac and cheese and pulled pork. For dessert, lemon bars, chocolate chip cookies and brownies.
After lunch, we went around the area and then headed back to base.
Highly recommend the company and tour! More read less
